Honor Just Showed Three Devices at MWC 2026 That Make the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Look Outdated

Honor Magic V6 & Honor Robot Phone in one image

Honor did not announce one foldable at MWC 2026. It announced three. The Magic V6, a robot phone that walks and dances, and a tri-fold that opens to nearly 10 inches. Together, they make the Galaxy Z Fold 6 feel like a product from a different era. Here is everything confirmed from the event.

Honor’s MWC 2026 Lineup: Three Devices, Three Messages

I am Ameer Hamza, and at Global Tech Press, we covered MWC 2026 closely. Honor did not just show a new phone. It showed a vision for what foldables can become.

Honor showcased the Honor Magic V6 alongside a walking robot phone and a tri-fold concept at MWC 2026 in Barcelona on March 2, 2026.

Each device sends a different message. The Magic V6 says foldables can be thinner. The robot phone says foldables can be fun. The tri-fold says foldables can replace tablets.

Let me break down each one separately, because they are three distinct products, not variants of one device.

Device 1: The Honor Magic V6

Honor Magic V6

The Honor Magic V6 is the direct successor to the Magic V5, which held the record as the thinnest foldable in the world at 4.3mm unfolded.

Honor confirmed at MWC 2026 that the Magic V6 will be even thinner than its predecessor.

Exact retail dimensions, battery capacity, and camera specifications have not been officially confirmed yet. What was shown at the event was a working prototype that journalists could hold and inspect.

Based on Honor’s flagship cadence, the Magic V6 is expected to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a silicon carbon battery. But these are expectations, not confirmations.

What We Know vs What We Expect

DetailStatus

Exact unfolded thicknessNot officially confirmed
ChipsetExpected Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
BatteryExpected silicon carbon (capacity TBC)
SoftwareExpected MagicOS 9.0 on Android 16
Release dateNot announced
PriceNot announced

I want to be clear here. Many publications rushed to publish specific thickness numbers for the Magic V6. Until Honor officially confirms the retail spec, we are not reporting an unverified number at GTP.

Device 2: The Honor Robot Phone

Honor Robot Phone MWC 2026

This is the one that broke the internet.

The Honor Robot Phone is a separate concept device. It is not a variant of the Magic V6.

The robot phone features a foldable screen with motorized legs that deploy from the bottom of the device. When placed on a surface with the hinge standing upright, the phone can walk, dance, wave, and interact with users.

A small rear display shows animated facial expressions, giving the device a personality.

Engadget confirmed the robot phone is real and functional. Journalists at MWC 2026 were able to watch it walk across a table.

Tom’s Guide noted it was one of the most talked about products at the entire event.

Is It a Gimmick?

Yes. And Honor knows it.

The robot phone is a concept device designed to generate attention and demonstrate Honor’s engineering capabilities. There is no confirmed release date, no confirmed price, and no confirmed market availability.

But as a statement of ambition, it worked. Every major tech publication covered it. And it put Honor’s name in front of millions of people who had never heard of the brand.

Device 3: The Honor Magic V Tri-Fold

Honor Magic V Tri-Fold

The third device is the most practically significant.

Honor unveiled the Honor Magic V Tri-Fold concept, which features three panels that fold into a compact form. When fully unfolded, the display extends to approximately 10 inches.

That is tablet territory from a device that folds down to pocket size.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 opens to 7.6 inches. The Honor Magic V Tri-Fold opens to approximately 10 inches. That is 2.4 inches more display area.

Huawei was the first to ship a tri-fold phone with the Mate XT in September 2024 in China only. Honor is now entering the same space.

Like the robot phone, the tri-fold was shown as a working prototype at MWC. No retail pricing, availability, or final specs have been confirmed.

How the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Compares Right Now

Here is where the Galaxy Z Fold 6 stands against what Honor just announced. Every Samsung spec below is verified from Samsung.com official.

Launch DateJuly 10, 2024

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 launched nearly two years ago. It uses a chipset that is now two generations behind the current Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Its 4,400mAh lithium ion battery is small by 2026 standards. And at 12.1mm folded, it is significantly thicker than what Honor just showed.

What Samsung Needs to Do With the Galaxy Z Fold 8

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 launched in July 2025 and improved on the Fold 6 with a thinner 8.9mm folded profile and 4.2mm unfolded.

But Honor just showed something thinner than even the Z Fold 7.

Samsung has been rumored to be preparing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 for a mid 2026 launch. Reports suggest it will move to a wider aspect ratio and potentially adopt silicon carbon battery technology.

Samsung still has advantages Honor cannot match right now. Seven years of software updates. Global retail presence in every major market. Samsung DeXS Pen support. And a proven track record.

But on pure hardware innovation, Honor is moving faster.

The US Problem

Honor does not officially sell smartphones in the United States.

The Magic V6, robot phone, and tri-fold will likely be available in ChinaEurope, and select Asia Pacific markets only.

For US and Canadian readers, the foldable market remains dominated by Samsung and Google.

For UK and European readers, Honor does sell phones officially in your markets.

My Honest Take

Honor Robot Phone Close View

Honor showed three things at MWC 2026. Only one of them, the Magic V6, will become a product most people can actually buy.

The robot phone is a concept. The tri-fold is a prototype. Neither has a price or release date.

But together, the three devices tell a story that should worry Samsung. While Samsung has been iterating cautiously on the same book style foldable for six generations, Honor is experimenting aggressively with form factors that Samsung has only shown in concept videos.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still a capable phone. It has 7 years of updates, Samsung DeX, a global retail network, and proven reliability.

But it is also two years old in design. And after what Honor just showed in Barcelona, “capable” is no longer enough to lead the foldable market.

We will have the full Magic V6 review at GTP the moment retail units become available. Until then, every spec marked as “expected” or “TBC” in this article should be treated as unconfirmed.

Because at GTP, we do not publish guesses as facts. Even when the hype makes it tempting.
