The A57 5G Is Not Just an A56 With a Different Number

Leading the lineup is Galaxy A57 5G, featuring a slimmer, more refined design and upgraded AI-powered capabilities that make it the most powerful Galaxy A series device yet.

Samsung said that on March 25, 2026. That is from the official US Samsung Newsroom. Now let us look at whether the specs actually back it up.

Design: Slimmer and Lighter

The A57 5G is 6.9mm thin and weighs 179g.

The Galaxy A56 measured 7.4mm thick and weighed 198g. That is a meaningful difference you feel in your pocket and in your hand over a full day.

Slimmer bezels and a bright Super AMOLED Plus display with Vision Booster ensure an immersive, clear viewing experience indoors and outside.

Display: Same Size, Noticeably Better Panel

Both phones carry a 6.7-inch screen. But the A57 5G steps up to a Super AMOLED Plus panel. The A57 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus panel with Vision Booster and up to 120Hz refresh rate.

The A56 had a standard Super AMOLED panel. The Plus version delivers higher peak brightness, which matters when you are outdoors in direct sunlight.

Camera: Ultrawide Gets a Real Upgrade

Samsung placed three cameras on the back. A 50MP main camera at f/1.8 aperture is backed by a 12MP ultrawide unit at f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP macro camera at f/2.4 aperture. On the front, you will find a 12MP snapper at f/2.2 aperture.

The Galaxy A56 had an 8MP ultrawide. The A57 5G bumps that to 12MP.

Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G deliver brighter, clearer visuals powered by upgraded camera hardware and an improved Image Signal Processor.

AI: Voice Transcription Is New and Genuinely Useful

Voice Transcription is new to the Voice Recorder app, making it easier to revisit important details from meetings, lectures, or calls by quickly transcribing and translating call recordings or turning voicemail audio into text.

The A56 did not have this. For students, journalists, or anyone in back-to-back meetings, this is a practical daily upgrade.

The latest Galaxy A series reflects Samsung’s commitment to expanding AI capabilities across more devices, empowering users to harness the power of intuitive AI that simplifies everyday tasks.

Durability: IP68 Stays, Knox Vault Arrives

Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance, adding durability in real-world environments.

Knox Vault brings hardware-level security to the mid-range for the first time.

Knox Vault was previously limited to Samsung’s flagship lineup. Getting it on a $549 phone is a genuine security upgrade that the A56 did not have.

The Galaxy A57 5G is not a dramatic reinvention. But the combination of a slimmer buildbetter ultrawide cameraKnox Vault securityVoice Transcription AI, and six years of software support makes it a genuinely stronger device than its predecessor at every single point that matters in daily use.

The Galaxy A57 5G will be available in the US starting April 9, 2026. If you are on an A56 or older A-series device, the upgrade math is much easier to justify this time around.
