GTP Testing Methodology
Every review on Global Tech Press is backed by a structured, repeatable testing protocol. This page explains exactly how Ameer Hamza and the GTP team evaluate smartphones and tablets — so you know our scores mean something.
🌡️ Thermal & Sustained Performance Testing
Cooldown Period
Before every test, the device is placed in a 23°C room for 15 minutes at idle. This ensures all tests start from the same thermal baseline, preventing carryover heat from previous sessions.
120-Minute Gaming Load
We run Warzone Mobile 2 or Genshin Impact at maximum graphics settings for 120 continuous minutes. CPU and GPU clock speeds are recorded at 5-minute intervals using CPU-Z and GPU-Z companion apps.
Sustained Performance Score (Sg)
We calculate the GPU Stability Score by comparing average sustained GPU clock speed to peak GPU clock speed. A phone that holds 90%+ of peak performance after 60 minutes earns a high Sg score.
Surface Temperature
Back-panel surface temperature is measured at the 30-minute and 120-minute marks using a calibrated digital thermometer. Results above 43°C are flagged as a comfort concern.
🔋 Battery Life Protocol
Standardized Settings
All battery tests run with screen brightness set to 200 nits, auto-brightness off, Wi-Fi on (connected to a 5GHz router), Bluetooth off, and location services off. This matches the testing standard used by GSMArena and PhoneArena.
Three-Cycle Average
We run three full charge/discharge cycles per device and report the average screen-on time — not the best single result. This eliminates lucky outlier sessions from our final score.
Charging Speed Test
We measure time to 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% charge from a flat battery using only the charger included in the retail box (or the officially recommended charger if the box is charger-free).
📊 Benchmark Suite
AnTuTu v10
Overall performance score. Run 3 times; median score reported.
Geekbench 6
Single-core and multi-core CPU scores for direct SoC comparison.
3DMark Wildlife Extreme
GPU sustained performance test with stability score.
PCMark Work 3.0
Real-world productivity tasks: web browsing, video editing, photo editing.
GFXBench Aztec Ruins
GPU rendering benchmark at 1440p for graphics-intensive comparison.
AI Benchmark 5
On-device AI inference speed for neural processing unit (NPU) comparison.
📷 Camera Testing
Camera scores are based on real-world shooting conditions, not controlled studio tests alone. We evaluate in three environments: bright outdoor daylight, indoor artificial lighting, and low-light/night mode conditions. All samples are shot in the same location on the same day for direct comparison.
Video recording is evaluated at 4K 30fps and 4K 60fps where supported, with attention to stabilization, rolling shutter, and detail retention. We reference DXOMARK scores but always supplement with our own hands-on samples.
✅ Editorial Integrity Standards
- ✓ We only publish reviews of devices we have physically tested for a minimum of 5 days.
- ✓ We never accept payment to alter a review score or conclusion.
- ✓ If a review unit is provided by a manufacturer, this is disclosed at the top of the article.
- ✓ Factual errors are corrected within 24 hours with a visible correction notice on the article.
- ✓ All benchmark data is collected fresh for each article — we do not recycle scores from previous reviews.
- ✓ Every article includes a “Last Tested” date so readers know how current the data is.
