The Xiaomi 17 scored 21 hours 15 minutes in GSMArena’s Active Use test. It outlasted its own $1,500 Xiaomi 17 Ultra. It outlasted the Galaxy S26, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the Pixel 10 Pro. It costs $630. Here is why this compact phone is embarrassing flagships twice its price.
The Battery Numbers That Do Not Make Sense
The Xiaomi 17 has a monster 6,330mAh battery, which is an impressive feat considering the size. The Chinese version of the model has 7,000mAh, but even the reduced capacity here produces great battery life when coupled with a power efficient screen.
The 17 outperformed its bigger and more expensive siblings, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The vanilla 17 achieved an Active Use Score of 21:15h with exceptional screen on runtimes.
Even with the reduction in capacity between regions, this smallest member of the Xiaomi 17 line still packs in a larger battery than the Xiaomi 17 Pro (6,300mAh) and even the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra (6,000mAh), not to mention similarly sized rivals, like the Galaxy S26 (4,300mAh), iPhone 17 Pro (3,988mAh), and the Google Pixel 10 (4,970mAh).
That is a 47% larger battery than the Galaxy S26 inside a phone that is nearly the same size.
PhoneArena’s Independent Tests Confirm It
In the web browsing test, the Xiaomi 17 clocked in at 24 hours and 48 minutes, which is well above a day of constant usage. The video playback test was also a staggering 15 hours and 41 minutes, which is way above the average result.
The 3D gaming test is the only one that is partially disappointing at just 6 hours and 40 minutes, which is well below expectations. Keep that in mind if gaming occupies a large part of your screen on time.
Charging: 100W Wired, 46 Minutes to Full
The Xiaomi 17 supports 100W fast wired charging with a proprietary Xiaomi HyperCharge charger. The device also supports 50W wireless charging. You can also charge other devices using 22.5W reverse wireless and wired charging. With a compatible charger, the phone can get you from 1 to 100% in just 46 minutes, while a 30 minute session restores more than 70% of the battery.
The Galaxy S26 charges at 25W. The iPhone 17 Pro maxes out at 45W. The Xiaomi 17 does 100W for less than half the price.
The Real World Test: Three Days on One Charge
The 6,330mAh silicon carbon battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging gave one reviewer three days on a single charge during normal use. They had an iPhone 12, an iPhone 17, and a Galaxy Z Flip 5 at home. The Xiaomi 17 battery life outlasts all of them, and it is not close.

Who Should Buy It
Pound for pound, the Xiaomi 17 beats its main rivals, like the iPhone 17, the Pixel 10 Pro, and the Galaxy S26 too, especially in terms of value.
Buy it if you want the best battery life in a compact flagship under $700. Nothing else at this size delivers 21 hours of active use with 100W charging.
Skip it if you are in the US. While the Xiaomi 17 went global, it is not officially available in the US. None of Xiaomi’s flagships ever were. While you can buy it from a third party reseller, do not expect to find it on Amazon or at Best Buy.
