OPPO has officially confirmed that the OPPO Find X9 Ultra will make its global debut on April 21, 2026. This is the first time an Ultra flagship from the brand has launched simultaneously in China and global markets on the same day, a clear signal that OPPO is done treating international buyers as an afterthought.
The announcement came directly from OPPO Chief Product Officer Pete Lau, who posted on X with the tagline “Your Next Camera.” And after seeing what this phone is packing, that tagline is not an exaggeration.
I am Ameer Hamza, and at Global Tech Press, I have been tracking the Find X9 Ultra since its first leaks surfaced. Here is everything confirmed and everything expected as of April 3, 2026.
Two 200MP Cameras in One Phone
The camera system on the Find X9 Ultra is unlike anything currently on the market. The leaked setup includes a 200MP main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom, a 50MP periscope camera supporting 10x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The front camera is also 50MP.
At the heart of the imaging system is a new telephoto lens developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, featuring a 50MP Ultra Sensing Optical Zoom Telephoto lens capable of delivering true 10x optical zoom.
OPPO developed a new Quintuple Prism Reflection Periscope Structure for this, which works by bouncing light across five separate reflections within the camera module, effectively extending the optical path without increasing the physical size of the device.
That kind of optical engineering is the reason this phone is being positioned directly against the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. We already compared the Xiaomi 17 Ultra against the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year, and the bar for camera phones in 2026 is now brutally high. The Find X9 Ultra is trying to clear it.
A Dedicated Camera Shutter Button
Another image teased by OPPO shows the slim profile of the X9 Ultra with a large orange button on the side and the tagline “Your Next Camera.” The button looks to be similar to the Camera Control seen on some iPhones. This was introduced on the X8 Ultra as the “Quick Button.” It is now returning with what appears to be a more refined implementation.
Display, Chipset, and Battery
The Find X9 Ultra is expected to sport a large 6.82 inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,600 nits. The phone is likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and could house 16GB RAM and 512GB native storage. The upcoming flagship may house a large 7,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.
If confirmed, that battery capacity puts the Find X9 Ultra in a different league than the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which still runs on a 5,000mAh cell. We covered this gap in detail last week, and the Find X9 Ultra arrival makes that argument even more relevant.3 The Find X9 Ultra will reportedly get an IP66, IP68, and IP69 rating for excellent ingress protection.
The Find X9s Pro Launches the Same Day
Aside from releasing the Ultra model, OPPO will also be unveiling another member of the series on the same day. Specifically, the brand will be releasing the Find X9s Pro alongside its fancier sibling. That said, this model will likely remain exclusive to the Chinese market, as the brand has made no mention of it on its global pages.
The Find X9s Pro is rumoured to feature a 6.32 inch OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, and a 7,000mAh battery. OPPO has confirmed that it will sport a 200MP main sensor as well as a 200MP periscope telephoto lens.
For context on how the Dimensity 9500 competes with Snapdragon, we ran a full breakdown of Dimensity 9500 vs Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 that is worth reading before April 21.
Why the Simultaneous Global Launch Matters
OPPO has officially confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra will make its global debut on April 21, 2026, in a move that marks a significant shift in the company’s release strategy. Rather than staggering the rollout across regions, OPPO is launching the device simultaneously in global markets and China on the same day, a decision that signals growing confidence in the flagship’s international appeal.
This is also significant timing. The April 21 date puts OPPO in direct competition with Vivo’s X300 Ultra, which is expected to arrive around the same period in China. We already reviewed the Vivo X300 Ultra and its dual 200MP camera system earlier this year. Two phones with dual 200MP cameras launching within days of each other is something nobody saw coming.
This will be the first time that OPPO’s flagship phone has seen wider release, previously being limited to China. Global pricing has not been confirmed yet. More details are expected at the April 21 event in Chengdu, China.
