OPPO Find X9 Ultra Is Going Global on April 21

This happened today.

Pete Lau posted to X on March 31, 2026: “Global debut incoming. See you April 21st!” OPPO confirmed it will also announce the Find X9s Pro at the same time.

It will be the first Ultra flagship from the brand to debut in global regions, signaling how serious OPPO is about its global footprint.

I am Ameer Hamza, and at Global Tech Press, we have been tracking the Find X9 Ultra since the first teaser dropped. Today’s date confirmation from Pete Lau himself is the clearest signal yet that OPPO is done playing the China-only game with its best hardware.

The Camera Setup Is Unlike Anything Else Right Now

OPPO has confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra will feature a top-tier quad-camera setup, headlined by a 50MP f/3.5 periscope telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. The company says this zoom lens will offer gimbal-level optical image stabilization while still being more compact than earlier periscope modules. Alongside it, the phone is set to include a 200MP primary sensor, a second 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

Like other devices in the Find X9 lineup, the Find X9 Ultra’s cameras will be tuned in partnership with Hasselblad.

Two 200MP cameras on a single phone is not something that has been done at this level before. The 10x optical zoom with gimbal-level stabilization on a periscope module is the spec that will define this phone in every head-to-head comparison that follows.

The Hardware Behind the Cameras

Expected specs include a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and 7,050mAh battery.

Inside, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage. The battery is 7,050mAh with Type-C 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

The orange-colored button showcased in the teaser image appears to be a dedicated, pressure-sensitive camera control button called Quick Button. This is OPPO’s own answer to Apple’s Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 series, and it makes sense given the camera-first identity of this device.

What Makes This Launch Different From Every Previous Find X Ultra

The Find X9 Ultra will be the first Ultra variant from OPPO that will see a global release, instead of being exclusive to China.

OPPO product manager Zhuo Shijie said about the Ultra: “This generation is not just a simple upgrade, but a concentrated explosion of our imaging technology over the years.”

The Find X8 Ultra beat the iPhone 17 Pro Max in PhoneArena’s camera scoring system by scoring 157 points, whereas the Apple device received 156. The X9 Ultra is built to improve on that already class-leading result.

The Honest Context

The Find X9 Ultra will compete against other camera-centric phones like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Vivo X300 Ultra.

The difference between those rivals and the Find X9 Ultra is the global availability. OPPO is now bringing its best camera hardware to users in the US, UK, Europe, and Australia at the same time as China. That is a meaningful shift for a brand that has historically made its best phones unavailable to Western buyers.

April 21 is three weeks away. At Global Tech Press, we will have hands-on coverage the moment the launch event wraps.
