The OnePlus Nord 6 is now confirmed for an April 7 launch in India. But here is the problem nobody is talking about enough. OnePlus might be gearing up to throw in the towel across European markets and the US. So the biggest question around this phone is not about specs. It is about whether you will even be able to buy it.
I am Ameer Hamza, and at Global Tech Press, I have been tracking both the Nord 6 launch and the OnePlus shutdown reports side by side. Here is where things stand as of March 29, 2026.
India Launch Is Confirmed, Everything Else Is Not
The official India launch is scheduled for April 7, 2026, with primary availability confirmed for Amazon India and the brand’s online store.
Availability outside India is yet to be confirmed, though it has reportedly cleared regulatory certifications in Malaysia and the UAE. That suggests OnePlus at least planned for some international markets at some point during development.
The Europe Problem
Due to Western regulations, the 9,000mAh battery capacity might not see the light of day in the UK and Europe. It will, however, be arriving in the Indian version of the phone.
It is not hard to imagine OnePlus wanting to still have battery capacity be a defining feature on the Nord 6, so the West could end up seeing a cell around the 7,000mAh mark. But that assumes OnePlus is still selling phones in Europe at all.
The Shutdown Timeline Complicates Everything
Reports from 9to5Google and Android Authority indicate that OnePlus could cease operations in North America and most of Europe as early as April 2026. That is the same month the Nord 6 launches.
The Nord devices traditionally skip a US launch, and the Nord 6 can be expected to continue the tradition. Based on leaks, the phone could be priced at €449 in Europe and £399 in the UK. But those prices only matter if OnePlus is still operating in those markets when the phone is ready to ship.
What About the Naruto Edition
A previous leak also hinted that the company may launch the OnePlus Nord 6 Naruto Limited Edition. This edition was spotted on the OnePlus India support page, suggesting it is at least planned for the Indian market. Whether it reaches other regions is another unknown.
The Specs That Make This Worth Caring About
For anyone who can actually buy this phone, the value is exceptional. The OnePlus Nord 6 will employ faster storage technology than Samsung’s Galaxy S26 family, and the OLED screen is confirmed to support a higher refresh rate than the S26 Ultra as well.
34,999 rupees currently converts to roughly $372. That is less than half the price of a Galaxy S26 for storage and display specs that technically beat it on paper.
What Happens If OnePlus Leaves Europe
If OnePlus exits Europe and the US, the Nord 6 becomes an India exclusive with possible availability in select Asian and Middle Eastern markets. For the millions of tech enthusiasts in those western markets who have been following the Nord line for years, that would be a real loss.
The OnePlus Nord 6 looks like the kind of device that deserved worldwide availability. Instead, it might quietly launch in one country while the brand figures out its future everywhere else.
