I Used the Samsung Galaxy A57 for 7 Days: The Honest Truth

The Samsung Galaxy A57 officially went on sale this week. I bought the base model for $549, skipped the protective case, and used it as my only device for a full week. I did not run synthetic benchmarks in a lab. I used it for navigation, heavy gaming, and endless scrolling. Here is the Honest truth about what Samsung actually upgraded.

I am Ameer Hamza, and at Global Tech Press, I believe a phone only proves its worth after the honeymoon phase ends.

After seven days with the Samsung Galaxy A57, I found exactly where Samsung spent their money and where they cut corners.

The Battery Is a Complete Tank

Let me start with the best part. The Galaxy A57 battery is genuinely difficult to use in a single day.

Samsung kept the capacity at 5,000mAh, but the new Exynos 1680 processor is built on a highly efficient 4nm process. During my week of testing, I consistently hit eight hours of screen on time. I even left GPS running for a two hour drive, and the battery barely dropped 12 percent.

We discussed this exact efficiency when we broke down why Samsung Galaxy A57 is expensive than A56 earlier this year.

45W Charging Finally Arrives

For years, Samsung forced its mid tier buyers to suffer with 25W charging speeds. That era is finally over.

The Samsung Galaxy A57 now supports 45W charging out of the box. Plugging the phone in at 10 percent, it reached a 65 percent charge in just 30 minutes. You still do not get a charger in the box, which is frustrating, but the speed upgrade is real.

If you are upgrading from an older device, you will feel this difference immediately. We noticed similar charging behavior in our Samsung Galaxy A57 5G comparison with A56.

The Cameras Are Reused

Here comes the brutal truth. If you buy this phone for a massive camera upgrade, you will be disappointed.

The rear setup features a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro lens. This is the exact same hardware configuration Samsung used last year. The photos look slightly sharper thanks to the new image signal processor inside the Exynos 1680, but the raw hardware has not changed.

Low light photos are fine, but any subject in motion will still blur. If camera quality is your top priority, you might want to read our Samsung Galaxy A57 vs Pixel 10a 50 difference guide before buying.

The Final Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy A57 is not a revolutionary redesign. It is a refinement.

Samsung fixed the two biggest complaints from last year by adding 45W charging and improving thermal efficiency. If you want a reliable phone that lasts two days and runs cool, this is worth your money. If you just want better photos, keep your current phone.
