Oppo has officially confirmed the launch date for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, which will debut globally on April 21. This is the first time an Oppo Ultra phone will be available worldwide at launch, and the camera system it carries might be the most aggressive in any phone this year.

I am Ameer Hamza, and at Global Tech Press, we have been covering the Find X9 Ultra since the first leaks hit in January.

Now that the launch date is official, here is every confirmed detail.

The Camera System: Dual 200MP Sensors

This is where the Oppo Find X9 Ultra makes its statement.

This spec leak reveals a 200MP main camera200MP periscope telephoto camera (3x optical), 50MP periscope telephoto (10x), 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP front facing selfie camera.

That is four rear cameras and one front camera. Two of them are 200MP sensors. No other phone on the market right now matches this configuration.

According to Oppo’s Find series product manager, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will feature Oppo’s most advanced imaging system to date, with a continued partnership with Hasselblad. The new 50MP 10x optical telephoto lens boasts a five reflection prism that has enabled Oppo to shrink the module length from 41mm to a super thin 29mm, all the while maintaining a 230mm focal length.

The latest innovation delivers native 10x optical zoom20x optical quality zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom.

We covered the Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s confirmed global launch and the earlier Oppo Find X9 Pro camera leaks over the past two weeks.

Full Specs: What We Know

The leak details a 6.82 inch LTPO AMOLED 144Hz display with 1440×3120 resolution and NanoCrystal Glass on top, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 7,050mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The display is said to reach a peak brightness of 3,600 nits when used in bright light.

The image reveals an orange colored camera button that looks very similar to the Camera Control introduced with the iPhone 16 lineup. Oppo’s Chief Product Officer Pete Lau personally confirmed the global launch on X.

How It Compares to the Competition

The Find X9 Ultra will compete against other camera centric phones like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Vivo X300 Ultra.

We tested both of those phones at Global Tech Press. If you want to see how the current competition stacks up, check our Xiaomi 17 Ultra vs Galaxy S26 Ultra comparison, our Vivo X300 Ultra hands on, and our Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera trick article.

Digital Camera World noted they were big fans of the Oppo Find X8 Ultra. With its large sensors, refined Hasselblad color science, and focal lengths, the Find X8 Ultra only fell short of a five star rating because it wasn’t available globally. The reviewer called it his “favorite camera phone last year”.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra fixes that one weakness. It is launching globally on day one.

Why This Matters for the Camera Phone Market

Commentators are describing the Find X9 Ultra as “a camera re engineering project disguised as a phone.”

With dual 200MP camera sensors, native 10x optical zoom in a 29mm module, and Hasselblad color science, Oppo is no longer playing catch up. It is setting the standard.

The question now is pricing. If it lands anywhere near the $1,100 to $1,300 range like the Find X8 Ultra did in international markets, it will directly challenge the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 17 Pro.

We will have a full hands on review at Global Tech Press the week of launch. Stay tuned.
